McDermott conducts seminar on "Networking Into the New Year" for the Worldwide Employee Benefits (WEB) Network

The New York Chapter of WEB asked Lynda McDermott to start off their 2009 Chapter programs with a workshop on "Networking into the New Year." The chapter members consist of internal HR benefits professionals and external lawyers, consultants and vendors who provide advice and counsel on employee benefits issues.
McDermott stressed the importance of spending time to develop and sustain your professional network before you need it. She also emphasized that networking should be as much (or more) about helping others. McDermott also had the participants create their "elevator speech" that describes their unique value proposition.
